tehac, ta pasaz o Active AWD, ktoru citoval Pohodar, sa vyskytuje aj v technickych manualoch od Subaru z roku 2006.
Ta naozaj dolezita veta je: "This system can infinitely vary the distribution between 95% front and 5% rear wheel drive to a 60/40 ratio with static weight distribution."

Uz sem si vzpomel, kdysi sem to cet na legacygt.com, ze starsi verze mely opravdu 95/5 ale ted uz to ma udavanych 60/40. Ale nevim, jestli se to zamkne na 50/50 nebo 60/40. Tipoval bych to druhe, prece jen to neni Torsen, aby menil pomer
Kua si me znejistel, hledal sem model i podle VINu a nasel sem, ze mam AWD 5MT :-D Kde udělali soudruzi chybu? -

VTD - Variable Torque Distribution - feature u 5EAT - tedy specialita 3 litrů.

ALL-WHEEL DRIVE
Automatic Transmission AWD
The All-Wheel Drive (AWD) automatic transmission distributes the motive power constantly to all four wheels. It is known as the active torque split system and uses a computer to constantly monitor the driving conditions and distribute torque accordingly. This system can infinitely vary the distribution between 95% front and 5% rear wheel drive to a 60/40 ratio with static weight distribution. The result is that when combined with dynamic weight distribution and selected gear range, the transmission can
distribute the drive to provide the best possible traction and fuel efficiency for the conditions at that time. The computer uses sensors to provide information on vehicle speed, engine load, gear range and rotational
differences between front and rear wheels to ascertain road and running conditions. For highway driving at constant speed, the system favours the front wheels while maintaining positive drive to the rear wheels, however
on the application of engine load or when cornering, the system instantly, without driver involvement, switches more drive to the rear for improved stability and handling. Unlike part time 4WD systems which require the driver to recognise the necessity for four wheel drive and other AWD systems which require loss of traction to react, the active torque split system automatically drives all four wheels constantly, therefore minimising any loss of traction. When road and driving conditions suddenly
change the Subaru Active Torque Split system is already driving all four wheels. This means that the level of available traction at each wheel for stability and manoeuvrability is greatly increased. A genuine safety feature even on the bitumen when the road surface changes halfway around a corner or is sharper than anticipated. In first gear range position, the system also increases four wheel drive pressure applied to the
transfer clutch for increased drive distribution to the rear wheels for closed
throttle operation (steep descent). This provides for better control in difficult slow speed conditions.

Iba Active AWD nema diferencial. Vsetky 5AT maju VTD a najnovsie aj niektore modely na podvozku Impreza/Forester maju VTD spolu so 4AT.
